If the FDA green lights COVID vaccines for kids, what happens next?

Tuesday, the FDA’s advisory panel met to review the data and evidence of Pfizer’s COVID-19 vaccine for 5- to 11-year-olds. It’s widely expected the panel will authorize the vaccine for emergency use. Late last week, scientists at the FDA said the benefits far outweigh the potential risks.

To talk more about the anticipated decision and what it means, Minnesota Now host Cathy Wurzer was joined by Dr. Nathan Chomilo, a pediatrician at Park Nicollet Brookdale, Senior Equity Advisor to the Commissioner of the Minnesota Department of Health and a board member for the Minnesota chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics.
