For our final Big Books and Bold Ideas show of the year, host Kerri Miller talks with three writers who also own bookstores and invites them to share the titles from 2021 they loved and were most eager to put in readers’ hands.
Guests:
Ann Patchett is the owner of Parnassus Books in Nashville, Tenn., and author of many books, including the new “These Precious Days” collection of essays.
Sarah Rafael García is the owner of the Libromobile, a writing, workshop and reading space on wheels based in Santa Ana, Calif.
Louise Erdrich is the owner of Birchbark Books in Minneapolis. Her latest novel, “The Sentence,” is set in a store that closely resembles Birchbark, which is haunted by the ghost of a customer that just won’t leave.
