Minnesota sees an increase in construction projects during the pandemic

During 2021, housing projects boomed in Minnesota.

According to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development builders started construction on over 21,000 homes in the Twin Cities — the most new housing construction in two decades.

Ron Wirtz is the regional outreach director at the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis. He joined host Cathy Wurzer to talk more about how construction has taken off during the pandemic and the challenges the industry has faced.
