
Meet Gretchen Brown
Gretchen Brown is lead producer for All Things Considered on MPR News.
Gretchen has a decade of experience in traditional print, digital and broadcast journalism. Before joining MPR News in 2022, Gretchen spent time as a crime reporter in Willmar, as a talk show producer for Wisconsin Public Radio in Milwaukee and was the editor at the helm of a national PBS digital publication for young adults. She also spent time as an intern at WCCO-TV in Minneapolis and at her collegiate independent student newspaper.
Gretchen’s work has received several awards, her most recent being two Page One Awards from the Minnesota Society of Professional Journalists and an Eric Sevareid Award from the Midwest Broadcast Journalists Association.
Gretchen has a bachelor's degree in communication with a minor in history from the College of Saint Benedict in St. Joseph. She has an orange cat named Clem, and in her free time loves going to Pilates classes, rock shows and thrift stores.
