Carolyn Lange understands the pain a parent feels after their child has died— it’s a pain that never really goes away. She lost her son in August, just down the road from the family farm in Kandiyohi County.

Andrew Hatlestad was just 20 years old, and was studying to be a nurse. Now, Carolyn has started a scholarship in her son’s honor, hoping to provide a lifeline for nursing students in rural west central Minnesota.
