Prosecutors are seeking a 30-year sentence for the former Minneapolis police officer convicted of murder in George Floyd’s death, but a defense attorney is asking that Derek Chauvin be sentenced to probation and time already served, according to court documents filed Wednesday.

On Thursday, Walz is expected to announce a host of incentives to prompt more Minnesotans to get a COVID-19 vaccine.
In a statement, Walz spokesperson Teddy Tschann said that 100,000 people who are vaccinated between Memorial Day weekend and the end of June will be eligible for items including state park passes, fishing licenses and tickets to the Minnesota State Fair.
