Prosecutors are seeking a 30-year sentence for the former Minneapolis police officer convicted of murder in George Floyd’s death, but a defense attorney is asking that Derek Chauvin be sentenced to probation and time already served, according to court documents filed Wednesday. Enbridge is more than half done building the $7.3 billion project. 30-year-old Marc Bell Gonzales pleaded guilty in September to one count of conspiracy to commit arson, for his role in helping burn down a Minneapolis bank during last year’s riots. Trinity Ottoson-Smith died on Thursday, after being shot while playing on a trampoline outside a Minneapolis home earlier this month. Another child hit by stray gunfire in the city this month, 6-year-old Aniya Allen, died last week. On Thursday, Walz is expected to announce a host of incentives to prompt more Minnesotans to get a COVID-19 vaccine.
