Continental Airlines and United Airlines may be looking at a merger. The New York Times and The Wall Street Journal reported yesterday that the two companies have discussed a potential consolidation.

This comes just weeks after US Airways made a proposal to acquire Delta Air Lines. If these mergers occur, there could be some powerful competition for Eagan-based Northwest Airlines.

Cathy Wurzer asked Mike Boyd, president of an aviation consulting firm called The Boyd Group, to help sort out these airline affairs.
