Welcome to the wettest month in 17 years.
We've had a whopping 9.32" of rain at Twin Cities airport this month. We eeked out the record passing the 9.31" from August 1977. The last time any month dumped more rain on the Twin Cities was June 1990 with 9.82".
A fresh northwest breeze is pumping drier Canadian into Minnesota behind a cool front pushing through Iowa today. Ely started out at a nippy 39 this morning, but fairly strong late-August sun will help temperatures mellow into the 60's north and 70's in southern Minnesota today.
Summer makes a cameo this weekend with highs back into the 80's. Enjoy!
