I've been in denial for a while now.
I know summer is way over, but recent temps in the 70's and a warmer than average (+3.8 degrees) month have allowed me to maintain the illusion.
One look at the calendar jolted me back to reality. I turned the page over to October last night.

Suddenly I realized that I had better get those few projects done I had on the list before the snow hits.
Actually, October can be a fine month in Minnesota. We see our fall color peak in most of the state. We also see 55% of possible sunshine on average, far brighter than the 39% in November which is our cloudiest month.
October temps drop about 15 degrees during the month.
Our average high this month falls from 65 today to 50 on Halloween. The good news? With Daylight Saving Time hanging on until November 4th this year, sunset on Halloween is 6:03pm. That means an hour extra daylight for the little trick-or-treaters!
