With temperatures in the upper 30s again this morning at Twin Cities Airport, we're still officially "frost free" this fall in the core of the metro.
The average date of our first frost is Oct. 6, and the latest the mercury has hit 32 in the fall is Oct. 30. If we make it to next Tuesday without a frost, we'll be in record territory again.
Accurate records of frost in the Twin Cities only date back to about 1960, when thermometers were located at the five-foot level, which is standard today.
We may see 32 Sunday morning. Until then enjoy a few more days of frost-free weather!
