Minnesota Congressman Keith Ellison said the war in Afghanistan would be a bigger issue in the presidential election if reporters and citizens took more interest in it.
There are about 28,000 U.S. troops currently serving in Afghanistan.
Ellison and fellow DFL congresswoman Betty McCollum were in Afghanistan last week.
The six member congressional delegation also visited Egypt and Pakistan.
