The South St. Paul stockyards provided a living to generations of Minnesotans since the train loads of cattle began arriving in the late 1800s.

Tom Kaliszewski worked the stockyards for 50 years as a salesman for the Central Livestock Association.

He joined All Things Considered's Steven John to share some of his memories of the sights, sounds, and, of course, smells from those 50 years.
