Two tornadoes confirmed

Twin Cities NWS damage survey team now confirms now 2 tornaodes. First tornado touched down in Coon Rapids and lifetd in western Blaine. It is rated EF1 with estimated winds of 86 to 110mph.

Second and stronger tornado touched down in eastern Lino Lakes into Hugo. This tornado is rated EF3 with estimated winds between 136 to 165mph.

Todd Krause from the Twin Cities NWS is performing the damage survey in the northern metro today. He confirms to MPR that the damage in Coon Rapids and Hugo WAS caused by a tornado.

Still no word on the EF scale and estimated winds speeds. They will fill in those details as the survey continues today and tonight.
