Bachmann, Tinklenberg split on bailout bill

Republican Michele Bachmann and Democrat Elwyn Tinklenberg are taking opposite positions on the latest financial services industry bailout bill.

Bachmann and Tinklenberg met in their first debate in Stillwater. Bachmann says she most likely will vote against the bill when it comes back to the House floor. Tinklenberg says he would vote for it.

Bachmann is seeking a second term representing Minnesota's 6th District in Congress. Her challengers are Tinklenberg and Independence Party primary winner Bob Anderson, who also participated in the debate.

More than 100 people attended the forum at Stillwater City Hall.

The candidates outlined their positions on the bailout, housing foreclosures and other economic issues.
