Nash Finch stores recall bakery products

Grocery chain owner Nash Finch is recalling several kinds of cookies and other products made in its bakeries because of the nationwide salmonella outbreak tied to peanut butter.

The recall affects SunMart Foods, Econofoods, Prairie Market, Avanza Supermarket, Food Bonanza, Wholesale Food Outlet, Family Fresh Market, Family Thrift Center, and Pick'n Save stores.

The affected bakery products contain peanut butter that was supplied by Peanut Corp. of America that has the potential to be contaminated with salmonella. The company says the items should be destroyed or returned for a full refund.

They were sold in Nash Finch stores in Colorado, Ohio, Iowa, North Dakota, South Dakota, Wisconsin, Nebraska and Minnesota. The company says they have not been directly linked to the salmonella outbreak and there have been no reported illnesses from them.

They include: peanut butter cookies, peanut butter chocolate chip cookies, mini peanut butter cookies, monster cookies, peanut butter grand brownies, peanut butter blossom cookies, Puppy Chow snack mix, peanut butter rolls, peanut butter rice crisp bars, Special K bars, Scotcheroos, and rolls and cakes iced with peanut butter cream.
