Night work to reduce 35W to one lane

(AP) - Interstate 35W in Bloomington will be reduced to one lane in each direction for the next two nights as crews work to install overhead structures for electronic signage.

Northbound 35W between 82nd Street and 90th Street will be reduced from three lanes to one on both Monday and Tuesday night, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. the next morning. The southbound lanes in the same stretch will also be reduced from one to three lanes two hours later at 10 p.m. both nights, and will also be restored to regular traffic at 5 a.m.

The new electronic signage is part of a new managed lane corridor and MnPASS express lane between downtown Minneapolis and Burnsville planned to open in fall of this year. The signs will provide real-time information to drivers about lane closures, incidents and advised speed limits to improve traffic flow and safety.
