A standoff with Minneapolis police ended after about four hours when the suspect was found dead in a home.
At about 8:30 a.m. Tuesday, officers responded to a home in the 6000 block of Columbus Avenue after a 911 caller reported a suicidal man with a gun.
Police secured the area and attempted to contact the man, but got no response. A SWAT team and negotiators were called in, but they were also unable to speak with the man.
The SWAT team went into the house around noon Tuesday and found the man who had threatened to commit suicide was dead.
The man's identity wasn't immediately released. The Hennepin County medical examiner's office will release his name when its work is done.
