Our recent weather pattern is a bit of an anomoly. We're in what's called an "Omega Block" pattern which is named after the Greek letter Omega beacuse the jet stream pattern resembles the letter weather maps.

We've also seen some retrograde, or backwards moving weather systems relative to the usual west to east flow in this part of the world. Today's back door cool front is different from other fronts in that it comes at us from the east instead of the west.

It looks like we will return to a warmer southwest flow as we approach the weekend. Temperatures should approach 80 degrees once again this week, and last into the upcoming weekend.
