A grand jury in Dakota County has indicted a 19-year-old St. Paul woman in a traffic crash that killed three people, including two young children.
The indictment unsealed Thursday charges Brittany Rose Krueger with criminal vehicular homicide, among other counts.
The Minnesota State Patrol said Krueger's vehicle crossed the median on Highway 52 in April 2008 and collided with a vehicle driven by Brittany Beth Carlson, who died at the scene. Her 2-year-old son, Brandon, and 4-year-old Tamaya Phillips died later at the hospital. Two other children in Carlson's vehicle were injured.
Prosecutors said a witness reported Krueger was distracted by a passenger in the front seat who was showing her something. The object wasn't identified.
