A Winona man received a 7-and-a-half-year sentence for a crash that killed five people south of Rochester last year.
Olmsted District Judge Joseph Wieners ruled Monday that 26-year-old Christopher Frisch must serve five years in prison, and be on supervised release for the remaining 2-and-a-half years.
The Post-Bulletin reports Frisch pleaded guilty in March to five counts of criminal vehicular homicide and one count of criminal vehicular operation causing great bodily harm. He admitted he was drinking last May 23 before he fell asleep at the wheel and crashed into a minivan.
The only survivor in the van, Rita Seha, lost her fiance, infant son, daughter, grandson and a family friend. She was critically injured.

Frisch's attorney, Brent Schafer, asked for four years, saying Frisch had no previous record, and that he stayed on the scene and waited for authorities.
