Fargo Park Board approves deer hunt

The Fargo Park Board has voted to continue deer hunting in several city parks.

Fargo police say bowhunters took 11 deer along the Red River corridor during the last deer management season. Eight of the 23 hunters who took part in the program got a deer.

The hunt was started a couple of years ago after residents along the river complained about deer damaging trees, bushes and gardens.

North Dakota Game and Fish Department aerial surveys indicate declining numbers of deer on both the Minnesota and North Dakota sides of the river. ---
