Wahpeton man arrested in killing in Doran, Minn.

A Wahpeton, N.D., man has been arrested in the killing of his former girlfriend at her home across the border in Doran, Minn.

Forty-four-year-old Jeffrey Allen Silvernail was arrested Monday at the law enforcement center in Breckenridge, Minn., while he was there on other business.

Authorities say he was the only suspect in the killing last October of 49-year-old Lori Roberts at her home in Doran, south of Breckenridge. She was shot twice. The gun has not been recovered.

Wilkin County Attorney Timothy Fox says Silvernail is charged with second-degree intentional murder. He's due to make his first court appearance Tuesday.

Fox says it appears their relationship started in 2005 or 2006 and ended shortly before her death.
