TCF Bank Stadium prepped for Vikes

Volunteers at TCF
Paid volunteers helped clear snow from the University of Minnesota's TCF Bank Stadium in Minneapolis on December 15, 2010. Because of damage to the Metrodome, the university's stadium will host the Minnesota Vikings game against the Chicago Bears on December 20, 2010.

Shovelers and maintenance personnel are back at TCF Bank stadium today to work on getting the Gopher's home field ready for its debut as a pro football venue. The Minnesota Vikings are scheduled to play the Chicago Bears on Monday in Minneapolis, but their usual home, the Metrodome, isn't available because the dome's roof can't be fixed in time after last weekend's major winter storm.

MPR's Cathy Wurzer spoke with Minnesota Public Radio News reporter Tim Nelson who spoke from TCF Bank stadium.
