Lawson Software announced early this morning that it will sell itself to a private equity firm and a software firm for about $2 billion.

Lawson employs about 3,800 worldwide, including 800 employees in downtown St. Paul. The company states it is too early to say anything about how the sale will affect jobs here in Minnesota.
