Target hires new marketing chief

Target has hired a new chief marketing officer.

Jeffrey Jones, 44, has held positions in both the retail and advertising industries. He was most recently president of a North Carolina advertising agency.

Previously, Jones held several leadership positions at the Gap, including chief marketing officer. Jones replaces Michael Francis, who left Target last fall to become president of J.C. Penney.
