'Cat in the Hat' opening in Mpls.

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) -- The Children's Theatre Company of Minneapolis will present the U.S. premiere of "The Cat in the Hat" next week.

The National Theatre of Great Britain adapted the Dr. Seuss story for the stage. It premieres Tuesday on the CTC's Cargill Stage.

CTC company member Dean Holt will play The Cat who entertains two bored children on a rainy day. Holt is returning to CTC for his 19th season.

The Children's Theatre Company has long been associated with Dr. Seuss' work. CTC has staged "The 500 Hats of Bartholomew Cubbins" and created the stage production of "How the Grinch Stole Christmas."

"The Cat in the Hat" runs through Dec. 2.
