Defamation charges in nude photo case

ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) -- A St. Paul man accused of posting nude photos of his ex-girlfriend on the Internet is facing criminal defamation charges.

A criminal complaint says 19-year-old Dylan Bendix posted the photos along with a lewd comment last August. The complaint says his ex-girlfriend was 17 when she sent the photos to Bendix at his request in 2011.

The St. Paul Pioneer Press says the photos were discovered by the woman's current boyfriend and had been viewed several hundred times. The charge carries a maximum one-year jail sentence upon conviction.

City Attorney Sara Grewing says posting photos on the Internet can be a crime if the intent is to degrade or disgrace a person. Bendix declined to comment.
