An Arizona couple is OK after their float plane crashed into a lake in northeastern Minnesota.
The St. Louis County sheriff's office says 62-year-old Timothy Breuhl of Paradise Valley, Ariz., was trying to land the plane on Shagawa Lake just outside Ely when the crash happened about 1 p.m. Tuesday.
Authorities say Breuhl and his only passenger, his 62-year-old wife Judy, were not hurt. They were assisted off the plane by a nearby boater.
The plane sustained major damage. Crews are removing the plane from the lake.
The sheriff's office and the Federal Aviation Administration are investigating.
