Minnesota is the 3rd best state to make a living
Based on average salary, cost of living, employment rate and workplace conditions Minnesota is well above average when it comes to being a good state to make a living in.
Money-Rates.com's annual survey of these factors has Minnesota moving up their top 10 list, trailing Washington state and Texas.
Minnesota's appeal? A "very low unemployment rate and excellent workplace conditions." The report notes that while Minnesota has "a higher-than-average cost of living and tax burden," the state's higher incomes "are more than enough to make up for these disadvantages."
