A batch of quick hitting severe storms pounded the metro Monday evening. As fast as the storms rolled in, they swept out.
It could have been worse, but the storms did manage to leave a trail of hail and downed trees in their wake.
Numerous storm reports clocked winds at 50 to 60 mph. Several reports of hail as large as ping pong balls rolled into the south metro.
The storms picked up speed and raced through at nearly 50 mph, sweeping out as quickly as they moved in. Here's the sunny evening view from Victoria in the southwest metro after the storms passed.
Thankfully, the forecast looks much better this week. Some of the best weather of summer lies ahead. A fresh Canadian breeze with temps in the upper 70s and low 80s and dew points in the low 50s provides the free AC into Thursday.
