50 years ago, Shirley Ellis records 'The Name Game'

Today's Morning Edition music is "The Name Game" by Shirley Ellis. The song was recorded 50 years ago today.

The lyrics for "The Name Game" were derived from a game that Ellis played as a child. She collaborated with songwriter Lincoln Chase in creating the tune. It made it to No. 3 on the pop charts and has been covered many times.
