Today's Morning Edition music feature is "Rock Me Amadeus" by Falco. Thirty years ago today, the song was No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
The 1984 movie "Amadeus" about the life of composer Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart inspired Falco's song. "Rock Me Amadeus" describes Mozart's genius, love life and debts.
Falco — like Mozart — was a native of Austria. He died in 1998 in a car accident at the age of 40.
