The vernal equinox happened officially on Monday. But, really, Wednesday was Duluth's first day of spring.
The Duluth Harbor Cam website notes that the "858 foot laker Roger Blough departed under the Duluth Aerial Lift Bridge this morning at 7:45 to kick off the 2017 Shipping Season."
There is something weirdly reassuring about this. Godspeed, Roger Blough.
