Police: Not Trained to Not Kill

Because most states don't require training in tactics to reduce the use of force, this special report is titled, "Not Trained to Not Kill." Most cops spend more time training to shoot their guns than learning how to avoid firing them.
The investigative reporting of MPR's Curtis Gilbert of APM Reports, looks at training police to de-escalate a crisis.
From PRX and the Center for Investigative Reporting "Reveal" series. Reported and produced by Curtis Gilbert. Edited by Catherine Winter.
