The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's Storm prediction Center has issued a tornado watch for southern Minnesota. The watch is in effect until 10 p.m. tonight. It includes the southern parts of the Twin Cities metro area.

The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a
* Tornado Watch for portions of southern Minnesota
* Effective this Wednesday afternoon and evening from 255 PM until 1000 PM CDT.
* Primary threats include...
A couple tornadoes possible. Isolated damaging wind gusts to 70 mph possible. Isolated large hail events to 1.5 inches in diameter possible.
Severe thunderstorms are developing in Iowa and moving north into southern Minnesota. Expect storms to increase in and near the Twin Cities in the late afternoon and evening hours.
Stay alert for possible warnings.
