In January, appliance giant Electrolux announced that it's 

closing a manufacturing plant in St. Cloud

. Not immediately — the company plans to continue production there through next year. But economists at St. Cloud State University and the University of Minnesota Extension Service say the plant's closure will send waves through the local economy, affecting other businesses, jobs and area spending.
