Mild and stormy Wednesday ahead; soggy October continues
Somebody flipped a soggy light switch this month.
Our cool and wet October weather pattern continues over the next week. Minnesota enjoys a briefly milder interlude Wednesday as southerly winds boost temperatures into the 70s in southern Minnesota. Enjoy it.
It's a one-day return to summery weather before temps crash back into the 50s again.

Scattered showers and a few thunderstorms will rumble across southern Minnesota Wednesday as the system rolls through. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's North American Mesoscale Forecast System 3 km model depicts the partly bumpy Wednesday.
Severe risk
There is a slight risk a couple of storms could reach severe limits Wednesday. High winds, large hail, and isolated tornadoes are possible in southeast Minnesota, Iowa, and Wisconsin. I don't think we're looking at a repeat of the massive Sept. 20 tornado outbreak. But a few storms could get feisty.
Rosa moisture
Wednesday's rain comes courtesy of former Hurricane Rosa. Rosa's moisture rained on Arizona and is getting injected into our inbound Wednesday weather system.
Cool wet pattern
Another rain system arrives Friday. Yet another Sunday into next Monday and Tuesday. Much of Minnesota could pick up another 1 to 3 inches of rain in the next week. Our cool wet weather pattern continues into October.
