St. Paul police are investigating the city's second homicide in less than 24 hours.
A man was fatally shot early Saturday on the 900 block of University Avenue West in the city's Frogtown neighborhood. Authorities received numerous 911 calls about shots fired at about 2 a.m., and found the victim in a parking lot outside Johnny Baby's Bar. He died at the scene.
Saturday's homicide follows a fatal shooting that happened just after noon Friday on the 400 block of Maryland Avenue West — an incident police called a "brazen shooting in broad daylight."
Neither of the victims have been publicly identified.

Police spokesperson Sgt. Mike Ernster said the shootings don't appear related — and there is one big difference.
He said witnesses and other community members with information on Friday's shooting helped police locate and arrest a 27-year-old male suspect. But as of mid-morning Saturday, only one witness had talked to police about the shooting earlier in the day.
"There (were) more people out there than just that one person who's willing to talk to us. And we need those people to come to us, work with us, so we can hold the person that's responsible for this crime and get them in custody," he said. "We're all safer when we work together; we need to work together right now."
The shootings are the eighth and ninth homicides of the year in St. Paul.
