Investigators have not released the man's name. He was taken to Hennepin Healthcare for treatment.

The fire department also said one of the police officers suffered minor burns to his hand while pulling the man out of the squad.

Metro Transit said two officers detained a man in connection with an ongoing criminal sexual conduct investigation about 11:30 a.m. Sunday near the U.S. Bank Stadium light rail station.

The officers involved in the incident are on standard administrative leave. The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension is investigating.
