The wildflower season in Minnesota is drawing to a close, but flower spotters Kelly Povo and Phyllis Root report there are still blooms to be found.
They recently visited the Carlos Avery Wildlife Management Area near Forest Lake and sent back an audio postcard about their search for the Great Plains ladies’-tresses orchid. Povo and Root are the authors of “Searching for Minnesota’s Native Wildflowers.”
