Chrissie Hynde has a new album out, called “Valve Bone Woe.” The songs are covers, with a jazzy feel – a departure from the music that fans are used to hearing Hynde sing with the Pretenders.

"The real point of the record was I wanted to sing songs that had a lot of melody," Hynde told 

. "I think there's a dearth of melody in modern music.”
