What's on the radio today: Oct. 18, 2019

9 a.m. — 1A with Joshua Johnson

Congress is told Rudy Giuliani's behavior risked blowing everything up like a hand grenade. In Ohio, Elizabeth Warren comes under fire. And the impeachment inquiry continues, but with no vote in sight. It's been another very busy week.

For the second hour of 1A: President Trump says America is done keeping the peace. He doubles down on his decision to withdraw U.S. troops from northern Syria. Also, protesters bring Ecuador's president to the table and thousands take to the streets in Spain.

Minnesota has some of the worst educational disparities in the nation. As a group, students of color score lower on standardized tests and are less likely to graduate from high school than their white peers. As part of the Progressive Education Network National Conference in Minneapolis, MPR News’ Angela Davis hosted a conversation about those disparities and what to do about them.
