Weather Maps in the Upper Midwest are coming up white this week.
Two separate snow systems will bring accumulating snow to parts of Iowa, Wisconsin and southeast Minnesota. The most significant accumulations favor eastern Iowa and southern Wisconsin. But southeast Minnesota will see a few flakes and some light accumulations are possible.
Eastern Iowa and southern Wisconsin are in line for a few slushy October inches through Tuesday.

The upper air pattern looks chilly overall into early November.

It remains to be seen how active the early part of the snow season in Minnesota will be. But with plenty of cold air in place, it may be just a matter of time before a storm winds up and takes a favorable track to produce heavy snow in Minnesota.
