Halloween can be a scary week for meteorologists.
The seasonal change is here. Cold air is in place this week across the Upper Midwest. The storm track stays south. Accumulating snow is likely Monday night and Tuesday across eastern Iowa and southern Wisconsin.
Several inches will fall near Madison and Milwaukee.
A few flakes will fly as far north as Rochester, Minn., but little if any accumulation is likely this week in Minnesota.

November chill levels
This week brings temperatures 10 degrees colder than average to Minnesota. Highs hover near 40 in the Twin Cities this week. Northern Minnesota stays mostly in the 20s and 30s this week.

California wind and fire
Fires in California continue to rage. Fires are burning in the hills around Los Angeles.
Fires continue to sweep across northern California.
Smoke plumes are thick in the northern Bay Area.
And yes, there is a climate change connection to the increase in fires and the impacts in California.
