Early winter: Cold bias into November?

Medium-range outlooks favor continues cold

Winter seems intent to arrive early this season.

The weather maps keep coming up wintry for the Upper Midwest over the next two weeks. Temperatures are running 10 to 15 degrees colder than average across Minnesota this week. Our cold bias appears ready to linger well into November.

NOAA’s three- to four-week temperatures outlook paints a chilly blue pattern right over Minnesota. Naturally.

This will be one of the colder Halloweens in Minnesota. Temperatures will be in the 20s in northern Minnesota.

In the Twin Cities and southern Minnesota, temperatures will hover in the 30s.
