Winter pays an early visit to Minnesota this week.

The upper-air pattern across North America resembles early December by mid-week.

Our free helping of Canadian cold air comes with a side of light snow. Light accumulations have already fallen across north and central Minnesota. A few flakes may fly in a rainy mix as far south as the Twin Cities Monday.

The next wave of snow arrives Tuesday night into Wednesday morning across southern Minnesota. The latest model trends favor the best chance of accumulating snow across southern Minnesota mainly south of the Twin Cities.
