David Fajgenbaum was in medical school when the symptoms of a mysterious disease started to ravage his body. He endured years of hospitalizations and experimental treatments, even coming close to death five times, before his own training and perseverance led him to a drug that saved his life, even though it wasn't FDA-approved as a treatment for his disease.
Tuesday, Fajgenbaum talks with Kerri Miller about his memoir, "Chasing My Cure,” and his hope that his journey will highlight the need to leverage already approved drugs for a variety of illnesses.

Houseplants are having a moment. A 2018 National Gardening Survey found that 77 percent of American households are now gardening — and young people are behind the latest uptick. Younger millennials and older members of Generation Z, aged 18-34, occupy 29 percent of all gardening households.
As houseplant ownership becomes more popular, so does the need for tips to keep those new, leafy roommates healthy. Blogger and author Darryl Cheng says we can start by looking beyond what may be going wrong with the leaves and embracing our plants' imperfections. He joins us to discuss holistic approaches to plant care and more.
