Latest snow depth reports from across Minnesota

Plenty of snow to play in across central and northern Minnesota.

January 2020 opens with plenty of snow across Minnesota.

Most all of Minnesota is covered in white. Snow cover is heavy with one to two feet in most of central and northern Minnesota. Up to 8 inches cover the ground in parts of southwest Minnesota.

The snow cover map from NOAA’s National Hydrological Remote Sensing Center (NOHRSC) shows plenty of snow for outdoor winter activities across Minnesota.

Snowfall outlook

Prospects for additional snowfall southern Minnesota look low in the next week. A couple of minor systems may deliver a few inches across northern Minnesota in the next week. NOAA’s GFS model snowfall output lays down a few inches up north by next Tuesday.
