St. Thomas Academy shut through Friday; parent confirmed with COVID-19

St. Thomas Academy, the private Catholic middle and high school for boys in Mendota Heights, said it will be closed Thursday and Friday after a parent of a student was confirmed to have COVID-19, the respiratory disease caused by the coronavirus.

The infected person had not been on campus, but school officials said they were being cautious, talking with the family to get more information and working with local health agencies to decide any next steps.

The school’s spring break is scheduled for next week.
