Our spectacular run of spring weather continues this week. With one rainy exception. 

After a few morning rain showers, Temperatures pushed into the low 70s again across southern Minnesota Monday. Highs in the 60s reached north to the Canadian border. Cooler by the lake as usual.

A fairly strong low-pressure system tracks along thew I-90 corridor Tuesday. That’s an ideal track for soaking rains across the southern half of Minnesota in late April. The Canadian model tracks the rain spreading across the southern half of Minnesota Tuesday. The heaviest rains favor the midday hours.

April precipitation is running 1.3” below average so far. So we could actually use some rain in many areas. This system looks likely to soak most of central and southern Minnesota with .50” to 1”+ rainfall by late Tuesday night.

Springy weather pattern returns Wednesday

Plenty of sunshine and milder temperatures return Wednesday through Sunday. In fact, this could be the best run of weather so far this year. Highs return to the 70s in southern Minnesota with 60s up north, expect cooler by the lake.
